Islam and the World by Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi

Islam and the World by Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi is a wake-up call for Muslim Ummah to rise from their heedless state and take up the responsibility of leading humanity from darkness to light.

The author starts the book with the sixth century of the Christian era, which was the darkest phase in the history of humanity. Then, he discusses the advent of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), “His advent gave to humanity a new life, a new light, a new faith, a new warmth, a new society and a new culture. It ushered in a new era in the human history marking the commencement of the real mission of Man upon earth.” and the era of Muslim glory and decadence, “once the Muslims were aroused, they quickly burst the bounds of Arabia and threw themselves zealously into the task of the fuller working out of human destiny. Their leadership held the guarantee of light and happiness for the world; it gave the promise of turning humanity into a single divinely-guided society.”  And after that, he touches on the rise of the west and its consequences and the real loss of mankind under western domination.

And finally, ends the book urging the Muslims to wake up and fulfill their responsibility of conveying and establishing the Deen of Allah.

“The only thing that can cure the world of its present ills and ailments is that its leadership should pass from the hands that are coloured with the blood of humanity to those that were destined to guide humanity, i.e., from the hands of Britain, America and Russia to the hands of the followers of the Prophet Muhammad (Blessings and peace be upon him).”

I highly recommend this book for every Muslim who is eager for the revival of Muslims and the glorious role of Islam in this modern age.
